Adlib's Smart Audience works by taking a seed audience and building a model based on shared characteristics: browsing patterns, content consumption, device profiles, demographic signals, among others. AdLib then finds additional users who closely match that profile, giving you a larger addressable pool that still behaves like the original audience.
This works across all audience types, not only retargeting. Whether the campaign is built on pixel-based audiences, third-party data segments, contextual targeting, or any other audience definition, the expansion logic applies the same way.
How to turn on Smart Audience
In the AdLib UI, Smart Audience can be activated at the audience level:
The toggle to activate this feature is available when building or editing an audience.
Smart Audience Expansion Controls
When Smart Audience toggled on, it extends reach across all targeting layers, never overriding and always respecting any restrictive targeting applied, such as:
geo targeting
brand safety/inventory quality controls
technology
day part
site and app lists
video/audio controls
channel
browser language
demo (age/gender)
Those always stay locked to the original set and are never loosened.
